Imagine you were in a fairy tale…..
What would you do if you realized it was in your hands to change the course of the story? What would you do if you realized the characters in the fairy tale were real people and did not want to be a part of the story?
Terry Pratchett’s ‘Witches Abroad’ does it all and in a very entertaining manner. Three witches, Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg and Magrat, one of them a newly designated godmother, head off to the land of Genua – to prevent ‘Ella’ from marrying the ‘Prince’. Now why would they want to do that, you may ask? It’s a happy ending, right? Wrong.
Stories can be different. Real people are different, and godmothers don’t want to be godmothers. Magic shouldn’t rule people.
Why it Works?
What makes this book interesting is not the plot but the characters. Nonchalant Nanny Ogg, the up-tight Granny and the fumbling rookie Magrat. Their interactions and escapades define the story.
If you like fantasy fiction, or are a fan of the Discworld series, you may enjoy this book.

Oh there’s a lot to Granny Weatherwax and this is just the tip of the iceberg more like 😀 My fav chars are Granny and Mustrum Ridcully. And I like this book better than the rest
I think Granny Weatherwax is kind of like Dumbledore – completely unassuming but supremely powerful.
