The Ladies Are Back
Carrie and the gang are back with their designer labels and six-inch heels.
The movie takes off from four years after the famous HBO show ended. Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), her husband Steve and their son have made a life for themselves in Brooklyn. Samantha (Kim Cattrall) is settled in a monogamous relationship and has been living in Los Angeles. Carrie (Sarah J. Parker) has been in a 3-year relationship with Mr. Big, and things are ready to be taken to the next logical step. One thing that hasn’t changed – all four of them are the best friends that they were.
Carrie & Big’s BIG decision to get married does not have the ending that Carrie wanted. Her dreams shattered; she looks for consolation from friends and work and pieces her life together.
The Review
The underlying theme of the story is that life is not a fairy tale. The four girlfriends’ lives represent four samples of authentic relationships. Miranda is in a marriage that’s fading, Samantha is slowly suffocating in a relationship that changes who she is, and Carrie continues to be unlucky in love. Charlotte(Kristen Davis) has a lucky break in the movie with nothing absolutely wrong in her life.
I wish I could say more about the movie or the message, but there isn’t that much going on. It’s like a slightly long episode of the show or maybe the condensed plot of an entire season. Movies like these mostly exist for fan service and are rarely anything more. There are enough eye candy and humor to keep you interested through the 2 hours.
Does Sex And The City bring the magic back?
‘Sex & the City’ retains the essence of the TV show. And that’s what makes it watchable!

hehe same goes for the series – Cashmere Mafia and Lipstick Jungle. Lots of eye candy with no real story. I bought this CD but am yet to watch it.
