The Corner Shop has a lovely cover and that is probably the nicest thing to say about it.
Elizabeth Cadell wrote light romantic comedies in the Britain and her books were fairly popular, so I feel bad about dissing it. When I picked it up I was looking for something similar to the likes of E.F. Benson or Monica Dashwood – light, sharp and witty notes on the quiet country life. Which is why I was probably disappointed. The Corner Shop is essentially a romantic novel about how a city girl falls in love with a country professor. A harmless mystery is thrown in for keeping it a little entertaining.
I really don’t have anything to write about it in terms of plot, considering there wasn’t much of it. I am not trying to be nasty but I do sincerely believe that the target audience of this book is probably pre-teen group. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you have a splitting headache and literally don’t have anything better to do.

🙂 you don’t have diss every book…that’s what I realized of late. Btw what’s with your blog header…clothes hanging and all 😀
I am not dissing every book..but I dont have patience with just “average” books. Also my header keeps rotating so I am looking at haystacks!
